Join Joran Viers, Forester with City of Albuquerque, as he demonstrates how to prune fruit trees in late winter. Class will be held both indoors and outdoors. The NMSU Fit Families Program class begins Jan. 29 and will be held every Tuesday, 5:30 to 7:15 p.m., Gerald Thomas Hall. Pre-registration is required. Fit Families is a 12-week program that promotes healthy childhood nutrition and increased physical activity. Each session includes: a delicious and nutritious cooking lesson and meal; nutrition information and healthy eating tips; physical activity; goal-setting activities; self-esteem and motivation workshops; and the ability to interact with others. Participating families must have at least one child that is between the ages of 5-12. At least one parent or guardian must attend. The program is free. More info...
