Livestock Tag-In Dates - Lambs, Goats, and Pigs

The Livestock Tag-In Dates will be held May 28, 8 to 10 a.m., Logan A. Farm for Lambs, Goats, and Pigs.

All Quay County Junior Livestock exhibitors will be required to tag-in their animals at the designated tag-in days only. All animals must attend tag-in to be entered into fairs. No exceptions! Please designate someone to bring your animals if you are unable to attend. Bring your bill of sale and if they are from out of state, they will need veterinary inspection papers and must be branded. The 4-H brand will be available to use at the tag-in. If they have an existing brand, a letter from the breeder stating you can use their brand will work. Cost of tags are $3.50 each.

The WALC event will be held May 28 - 30, 1 p.m., Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown, 2600 Louisiana Blvd NE.

Registration: $130 for adults; $50 for young ladies (in college); and $50 for young ladies (ages 14-18). The focus will be on personal development leadership. Participants will sharpen their rowels on etiquette, selling yourself, time management, organization, a great tour and so much more. Attendees will leave with tangible tools and resources to help them be the best version of themselves.

NM Youth Ranch Management Camp

The NM Youth Ranch Management Camp will be held June 9 - 14, CS Cattle Company’s ranch at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range.

Youth ages 15-19 should apply for a life-changing experience where they will be introduced to the many aspects of running a ranch, from financial statements and marketing strategies to producing quality beef and managing natural resources and wildlife. Horsemanship Camp

The Horsemanship Camp will be held June 10 - Aug. 2, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., NMSU Equine Education Center, 750 Stewart Street.

Registration is $300 and includes all necessary equipment, snacks, and t-shirt. Participants will learn horsemanship skills and techniques with an emphasis on safety and fun! It will be a great week with lots of time in the saddle. Camp is geared toward youth ages 7-13 and will include hands on activities learning about equine health, nutrition, anatomy, and how to ride.
