Agricultural & Extension Education Undergraduate Programs

The department offers two majors:
Agricultural & Extension Education and Agricultural Extension & Community Development
Students majoring in Agricultural & Extension Education may choose from three options: Teaching, Agricultural Communications, or Advanced Technology Education. Students majoring in Agricultural Extension & Community Development may choose from three options: Extension, Government and Industry, or International Agriculture.

B.S. in Agricultural & Extension Education

Agricultural & Extension Education – Teaching Option: prepares students to teach agriculture and natural resources in a middle and high school setting.

Agricultural & Extension Education – Advanced Technology Education Option: prepares students for a career in the technology industry through hands-on experience through classes and internships.

Agricultural & Extension Education – Agricultural Communication Option: prepares students for careers in print and broadcast media, public relations, photo-journalism, and advertising/marketing related to agriculture, food, and natural resources.

B.S. in Agricultural Extension and Community Development

Prepares students for a broad spectrum of domestic and international positions in government agencies and non-governmental organizations that deal with agricultural community development issues and natural resources (e.g. Cooperative Extension Service, USDA, NMDA, Peace Corps, and World Neighbors).
