Raymond Tetteh

Raymond Tetteh is a graduate research assistant in the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He worked with the Department of Agriculture, Ghana for five years. He is currently focusing on international agriculture and its effect on sustainable agriculture. Raymond did his mandatory one-year national service at the Department of Agriculture, Sekyere South in the Ashanti Region where he taught farmers on improved methods of crop production and helped with group formation in the district. Afterwards, he joined Self-Help International an Iowa-based international development organization dedicated to alleviating hunger in rural communities in Ghana and Africa. There he formed teen groups, promoted a rare variety of orange fleshed sweet potato in 2019. Raymond joined the Department of Agriculture, Suame Municipal Assembly under the Local government service. He was adjudged the best staff in the Municipality in the year 2020. His farmer won the overall best farmer award that same year. This is one of the best achievements in his short career till date. He was promoted to join the management unit of the department after his award as the information systems officer in addition to his extension work. Raymond is excited to be a graduate research assistant at the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education, New Mexico State University. He believes that the Agricultural and Extension Education program at NMSU can be of immense contribution to sustainable agriculture in the foreseeable future. Go Aggies!
