The Center for Animal Health and Food Safety at New Mexico State University was founded in 2007 and is comprised of three primary functional research units:

These research entities engage in collaborative research with academics, government research laboratories and agencies as well as private industry. The labs maintain state-of-the art equipment and expertise that is used to broaden the capacity for interdisciplinary research at NMSU.
